As the sea level rises, so many of us will be seeking higher ground.  This week, I feature a new podcast using that name.  It sits at that intersection of so many matters of my heart — climate change, public information, kids, science identity — and, what’s more, it’s situated where I grew up. 

In last week’s post I featured youth activists. This week’s young people are active — and learning to be outspoken — and are working close to home to make a difference.  I’m waiting to see what the Bridgeport middle schoolers featured in Higher Ground will do, while admiring the tree-planting kids in Pakistan… 

… and the erosion measurements taken and recorded by Newtok, Alaska, high schoolers, whose Yup’ik community is one of two that the Biden Administration has committed funds to relocate. 

To — where else? — higher ground.
