There are newswire reports of a nasty landslide in central Vietnam. The reports suggest that this was a rockslide in the morning of 15th December in Tuong Duong district of central Nghe An province triggered by quarrying as part of a hydroelectric powerplant scheme. Harrison Lake: a nice paper in the journal Landslides (Hughes et al 2020) describes newly discovered, large, ancient landslide deposits in Canada. The two largest landslides would have been tsunamigenic.

On 30th June a rockfall caused a freak fatal accident in Shimian County in Sichuan Province, China. The boulder penetrated and became wedged in the cab of a coach carrying 38 people, killing the driver.
