Sketch Your Science

We in Sharing Science are big fans of combining science and art. One of the many ways to do this is to “Sketch Your Science”—an activity that we’ve offered in person at AGU Fall Meetings, on a big whiteboard-style wall on or near our Sharing Science room.
Just because Fall Meeting is online this year doesn’t mean you can’t still participate. We’d love it if you shared a drawing—or drawings—of your research area, or you talk/poster, or even the science of someone else whose talk you found interesting, during Fall Meeting.
All you have to do is:
- Make a sketch of your science (research, study, etc.).
- This does not have to be beautiful art! Stick figures are more than welcome.
- You can draw this on paper, on cardboard, in chalk in front of your house, on a tablet or phone drawing app—whatever appeals to you.
- Take a picture of the sketch/make a copy of it. (Don’t forget to include your name or some other way of identifying it as yours!)
- Submit it to our AGU Tumblr account (here are guidelines on how to submit).
- Feast your eyes on your post, and share it—and others you like—over social media, using #SketchYourScience and #AGU20 (and tagging the Sharing Science Twitter, @AGU_SciComm).
- Enjoy the subsequent fame!
