Tomorrow is the 45th anniversary of the Aberfan disaster

The Aberfan landslide disaster occurred on 21st October 1966, which is 45 years ago tomorrow. This remains the UK’s worst landslide accident, with a toll of 144 people of whom the majority were children.
Brett Cherry and I have written a piece reflecting on both the events of the day and the lessons that have (and have not) been learned from the tragedy. This is now online on this site and on the IHRR blog.
