Happy Halloween!
Posted by Jessica Ball
After all, what better medium for a volcanologist than something that glows such a lovely orange?
My entry for the Pumpkin Carving Accretionary Wedge (#40). Look familiar?
Those crazy Aztecs and their volcanoes.
And a more mundane companion, for tradition…
Have a ‘frightful’ day, everyone!

Can I ask is there a reference/source for the Pumpkyan ähm…I mean Mayan volcano?
Here it is! I forgot that I snagged it off of The Volcanism Blog: http://volcanism.wordpress.com/2009/03/07/saturday-volcano-art-an-aztec-volcanic-vision/
Turns out it was Aztec, too. I don’t know why I got it into my head that it was Mayan…
Nice, you gave me some idea’s for my own.
I like how you got it to glow lighter by simply cuting through the skin. Very nice.
