Friday fold: Pelham Parkway

Steve Mirsky of Scientific American contributed this week’s Friday fold: it’s in a boulder adjacent to Pelham Parkway in the Bronx, which he spotted while cycling a few weeks ago.

Fordham Gneiss perhaps? Hartland Formation? Looks like the Fordham, but the local Hartland is also gneissic in places. I am reminded of some NYC Uni’s geo-club t-shirts ‘Da Bronx is gneiss, but Manhattan’s full of schist…’
