Shimian County: a freak rockfall accident in China
On 30th June a rockfall caused a freak fatal accident in Shimian County in Sichuan Province, China. The boulder penetrated and became wedged in the cab of a coach carrying 38 people, killing the driver.

Lai Chau: multiple landslides in Vietnam in recent days
In the last few days heavy rainfall has triggered multiple landslides in Lai Chau, northern Vietnam, killing at least 21 people. A remarkable video shows the moment when an excavator was swept over a cliff. Fortunately the driver survived, albeit with serious injuries.

Hidroituango: Renewed movement suggests a landslide of up to 200,000 cubic metres may occur soon
A new evacuation of workers has been ordered at the Hidroituango dam site in Colombia in light of a potential landslide of up to 200,000 cubic metres in the next few days. The integrity of the dam is not considered to be threatened.
