Shimian County: a freak rockfall accident in China
On 30th June a rockfall caused a freak fatal accident in Shimian County in Sichuan Province, China. The boulder penetrated and became wedged in the cab of a coach carrying 38 people, killing the driver.

The M=6.4 Hualien earthquake yesterday in Taiwan occurred close to Taroko Gorge, which provides the alignment for the Central Cross Island Highway. This is a road that is prone to landslides and rockfalls. It will be fascinating to see how the slopes performed.

Nanzhang County, Hubei: 12 killed as a hotel is crushed by a rockslope failure
On Friday night a major rockslope failure in Nanzhang County, Hubei, China crushed a hotel, killing 12 people and injuring three more.
