Christine Shields

Christine Shields is an Associate Scientist at the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR) with expertise in simulating Earth’s past, present and future climates with earth system models. Christine’s primary focus is toward understanding Earth’s hydrological cycle in the context of climate change, with particular emphasis on atmospheric rivers (ARs), monsoons, cyclones, and weather extremes. Christine’s research spans much of Earth history, ranging from millions of years ago to future climate states under global warming. In addition to scientific and technical projects, Christine educates and trains incoming climate scientists in the art of climate modeling.
