Dr. Hari Kandel is an Assistant Professor in the School of Natural Resources and Environment at Lake Superior State University (LSSU), Michigan. He teaches water, environment, and GIS courses in geology, environmental science, and geospatial programs, advises students from Fisheries and Wildlife programs, and collaborates in hydrologic and remote-sensing related research with researchers from Center of Freshwater Research and Education at LSSU. He was born, raised, and awarded his academic degrees up to higher education in Nepal.
Project Description: Through the Sharing Science project, Hari is planning to bring a much-needed environmental awareness talk to the high school students and local authorities in rural areas of Nepal where unsustainable activities in construction and resource exploitation have recently been increased and as a result the communities have been suffering.
