A sinkhole in Germany, a landslide in Italy and the forecast path of Hurricane Tomas (which has already caused landslides in St Lucia)
Today has been a busy day in the natural hazards world. Last night in unrealted incidents a sinkhole opened without warning in central Germany and a landslide killed a small child and his mother in Italy. Meanwhile, Hurricane Tomas has caused widespread destruction in St Lucia and is still forecast to pass directly over the earthquake-affected areas of Haiti.
