Lucila Houttuijin Bloemendaal is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Earth and Environment at Boston University, studying coastal geology and sedimentology. She is from New Orleans and has lived in Houston and Groningen, The Netherlands. She received her Bachelor’s degree in Earth and Ocean Sciences from Duke University and is interested in the role of geology in informing and developing coastal resiliency measures. She enjoys baking and scuba diving.
