The Most Amazing Space Picture Of The Year

Click for a MUCH larger version. On July 19, 2013, in an event celebrated the world over, NASA’s Cassini spacecraft slipped into Saturn’s shadow and turned to image the planet, seven of its moons, its inner rings — and, in the background, our home planet, Earth.
I know others have blogged this today, but for those that missed it…

Dan, the pictures are fantastic but I have one question. Why are the rings that show on against the planet seem to be magnified? I realize that it’s a mosaic of about 141 camera shots but the planet just looks wrong..
