Severe Thunderstorms on The Chesapeake Bay- In February??
Posted by Dan Satterfield

The Terminal Doppler Radar at Andrews AFB indicated winds over 60 crossing the Chesapeake Bay Friday afternoon. (The bright pink area)
I’ve been tracking some very strong storms across the Chesapeake Bay and into the Delmarva Peninsula this afternoon. A rare moderate risk of severe weather was outlooked by the Storm Prediction Center today for the region. What a crazy winter it has been!
There is also a tornado watch over much of the region, with the greater threat of tornadoes over North Carolina. The crazy weather is not just on this side of the Atlantic. It has been a wet and windy winter in the UK as well. See the video below from my friend Alan Williams who shot these pics of the Lower Aygarth Falls near Howse. Alan is a professional photographer who lives in Wales.
The UK this winter effectively cut in half with a wet north and west and a dry south and east. Currently drought conditions prevail in the latter.
PS the falls are near Hawes in North Yorkshire.
