New Satellite View of the Oil Slick. HUGE!

Posted by Dan Satterfield

View of the oil slick in the Gulf from NASA's TERRA satellite. 11:40AM CDT (1640GMT). Click image for the high resolution version.

The winds are fairly light in the Gulf and the currents have responded to this as well. This new view of the oil leaves no doubt that the slick is massive and spreading slowly  eastward. Not that the folks in NW Florida do not already know it.
