Becca Van Hoeck is a PhD student at UNC Chapel Hill. Her research explores the role of underwater sound in marine ecosystems. She is currently working on a project to understand the location and timing of Atlantic cod spawning off the coast of Massachusetts and assess their vulnerability to Offshore Wind Energy development. Becca is the current co-chair of ComSciCon-Triangle, a science-communication workshop for graduate students, and is excited to translate this SciComm experience into advocacy as an AGU Voice for Science! Outside of work, Becca likes to read and go on hikes with her dog.
