Paula Buchanan is a doctoral student in Emergency Management. Her research focuses on how socio-technical systems function as a communication channel to provide populations with information to mitigate the impact of issues associated with disasters. She is also passionate about using social media and data visualization tools to effectively communicate with targeted audiences. Paula received a Deans’ Honor Scholarship to attend Tulane University as an undergraduate student. She graduated from Tulane University with a BS in Biology, BA in History, and a minor in Economics. She also has an MBA, and MPH with a concentration in Health Systems Management.
