Joao Silveira Meyers
I was born and raised in Brazil, where I earned my bachelor’s degree in engineering. During my undergraduate studies, I completed my research in coastal geology and became passionate about the topic. Besides working on research for my master’s degree at Shippensburg University, I coordinated the Campus Farm and participated in educational activities to educate the local community and college students about sustainable agriculture practices. Currently, I am enrolled in a Ph.D. program at George Mason University and am eager to share my scientific knowledge with the general community, mainly young individuals that have less access to scientific information.

The Plainspoken Scientist is the science communication blog of AGU’s Sharing Science program. With this blog, we wish to showcase creative and effective science communication via multiple mediums and modes.
