My name is Rachel Phillips. I am a PhD student at the University of Texas at El Paso studying biogeochemistry. I have always been passionate about science communication and teaching.

Project Description: After realizing how rarely topics in the geological sciences were shared online, I started a YouTube channel, called GEO GIRL, on which I share educational geoscience videos. My videos are accessible to public audiences around the globe (channel link: GEO GIRL – YouTube). The feedback I have received on my channel has brought new meaning to my career as a scientist and greatly enhanced my love for science.
