Snehal Kadam is a first year PhD student at the Hull York Medical School, University of Hull in the UK. Prior to starting her PhD, she completed her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in India, at the Indian Institute of Science Education and Research (IISER) Pune. She is a microbiologist interested in biofilms, infections and all things bacterial! When she is not in the lab, she is either reading a book, or exploring new food.

Dr. Karishma S Kaushik is an Assistant Professor at the Savitribai Phule Pune University, India. A physician-scientist by training, her research group focuses on building human-relevant infection models in the lab. She has contributed to the Indian scientific ecosystem in many ways, and Talk To A Scientist is a passion project that she and Snehal co-run.

Project Description: Talk To A Scientist, co-founded by Snehal Kadam and Dr. Karishma Kaushik, is India’s only interactive weekly science webinar series for kids (ages 6-16)! They follow a season format, with each season having a theme and 10 episodes. Each season ends with a fun, simple hands-on activity that kids can do at home live during the webinar! The platform also hosts numerous guest scientists across India, and aims to showcase that science is fun, while building modern-day role models in science. They hope to become India’s premiere science outreach platform, and ‘Build a better India, one science webinar at a time’.
