Bahareh	Sorouri

Bahareh Sorouri is a PhD Candidate in the University of California, Irvine (UCI) Department of Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Her research explores climate change effects on microbial genetics and function. She is an avid science communicator and serves as a managing editor for The Loh Down on Science, a daily humorous science minute broadcast on the National Public Radio. Bahareh is also passionate about promoting diversity, equity and inclusion in STEM. For the past three years she has been the co-president of ReachOut TeachOut at UCI, a graduate student-led club aimed to demystify STEM careers for traditionally underrepresented high school students.
