Lina is a Voss Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Institute at Brown for Environment and Society (IBES) and the Department of Earth, Environmental, and Planetary Sciences at Brown University, she is a paleoclimatologist who uses organic geochemistry tools to see how precipitation, temperature, and vegetation changed in terrestrial tropical environments since ~5 million years ago. Originally from Colombia, she graduated from Universidad de Los Andes in Bogotá and obtained a PhD in Geological Sciences at the University of Colorado Boulder. Additionally, she is passionate about science communication and outreach in both English and Spanish. She is an active member of Geolatinas and a co-founder of GeoLchat.
