Good Read in Sci Am about the Political Psychology behind Political Correctness
Posted by Dan Satterfield
I normally would not take the time to just link to an article on Sci. American, but two reasons. One it’s fascinating psychology, and 2. Someone told facebook that this article in Sci-AM should be blocked- and they did! I figured away around it and sent FB a message as well. This is actually a new tactic used by folks that do not like something, they label it as porn etc. on Facebook and it gets blocked for hours. We have even had our news stories on my station web-site blocked by these kind of people.
So, if you have never heard of “ambiguity intolerance” and why it is pushing one presidential candidate up in the polls, you should take the time to read this, if just for the reason that FB didn’t want you to see it.
Knowing how your mind tricks you into believing things (confirmation bias,Dunning-Kruger etc.) is the best inoculation against uncritical thinking, so I am always fascinated by pieces like this.
