Note I previously wrote atom instead of molecules and that has been corrected in the post above.
How can each dot be an atom of carbon monoxide? Carbon monoxide is a molecule consisting of one carbon atom and one oxygen atom.
Your right of course, it should have been written better but I did explain it.
