As an air quality and climate scientist, I study how weather and chemistry interact to understand where and why pollutant hotspots form. My current research integrates gound-based sensors, satellites, and chemistry-climate simulations of air quality over the Chicago area in order to create high-resolution maps and test out potential air pollution mitigation plans that can have benefits for both human health and the climate.
