Hisham Eldardiry completed his PhD in Civil and Environmental Engineering at University of Washington, Seattle. The primary focus of Hisham’s research is geared towards finding sustainable solutions to the challenges facing the security of energy and water systems in transboundary basins. Hisham is highly interested in the future of the Nile river following the hydropower development by upstream nations. As part of his outreach activities, Hisham has recently launched an initiative, called “HydroLingo”, with the goal to deliver water research in native/local language and promote more effective public engagement.
