Marie Farson

I am an oceanographer with a PhD from Scripps Institution of Oceanography, working with the Deep Tow program there, developing acoustic instrumentation to study stress and strain build up across sea floor spreading centers. I have worked 8 years in industry on manned and unmanned vehicles, acoustic and magnetic silencing and instrumentation in the ocean. After a career hiatus in support of my husband’s career as a Capt in the US Navy, I returned to academia and am now teaching Earth Science and Engineering at a small liberal arts college in Illinois, and conducting research on issues related to preserving the health of our rivers and oceans.
