One of our primary goals in the Sharing Science program is to help scientists more successfully communicate what they do to any audience. We do this through workshops, webinars, online content, etc. This blog is another way that we provide tips and tools on successful communication. Something unique about this venue, however, is that in addidion to providing Sharing Science-generated content, we also pull in guest posts from sciientists and scicomm professionals. Hearing from us is one thing. Hearing from your peers is oftentimes a great way to see what we’re teaching in action.
Would you like to contribute to The Plainspoken Scientist? Then you’re in luck! We’re looking for guest contributors.
If interested, fill out this form and we’ll be in touch!

Hi there,
I’m quite interested in your blog, but, um….
“With this blog, we wish to encourage scientists to reach out to non-scientists and to do so with plainspoken discussion. ”
How about a two way conversation? Sci-comm seems to always be about a top down, one way, teacher/student, we talk and you listen relationship?
I’m very interested in talking WITH scientists, but less interested in to being talked at by scientists.
Just my one little vote, that’s all.
