Kanchan is a PhD student in Environmental Science at Oregon State University (OSU), where she is pursuing her passion for environmental research and public policy. She is interested in the social dimensions of the environment and is passionate about women’s involvement and empowerment, gender issues, and first-gen & minority representation in academia. Along with doing a Master’s in Public Policy from OSU, she holds a Master’s degree in Environmental Science from Tribhuvan University, a leading university in Nepal. At OSU, she is working with Dr. Brent Steel, and her research focuses on the human dimensions of wildfire. She loves playing with her son, cooking, and going for nature walks in her free time.
