Some cobbles from Wyoming, showing lovely weathering rinds:
…And here’s another, with a “slice” off the front.
It reminds me of a slice through a sushi roll!

For his work on this blog, the National Association of Geoscience Teachers recognized him with the James Shea Award. He has also won the Outstanding Faculty Award from the State Council on Higher Education in Virginia, and the Biggs Award for Excellence in Geoscience Teaching from the Geoscience Education Division of the Geological Society of America. I found one very similar to the rectangular one in the top photograph but the center was completely worn away. I also found it in Wyoming. Have you found any that have an empty cavity in the middle?
