I’m still getting ready for the semester here, so at the suggestion of A Lifelong Scholar, I’m resurrecting an old series I was working on and giving you a humorous interlude. (This is one of the photos from my travels this summer; can anyone guess where it was taken?)
…someplace with lahars?
Yep – on the right track.
I am thinking Montserrat here.

One of the geobloggers posted pictures of this same building not too long ago, but I don't remember who, and I'm guessing the "where." Martinique?
Bingo! It's a house in the Belham valley, near the (former) golf course. Lahars are pretty common there, but pyroclastic flows can make it that far from time to time.
Thank you! 🙂
The Belham river is filling up. We were here in December 2008 and you could get into the first floor of this house.
