{"id":42724,"date":"2023-01-26T07:54:33","date_gmt":"2023-01-26T07:54:33","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?p=42724"},"modified":"2023-01-26T08:00:37","modified_gmt":"2023-01-26T08:00:37","slug":"yahuokou-landslide-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2023\/01\/26\/yahuokou-landslide-1\/","title":{"rendered":"The 19 July 2019 Yahuokou landslide in Gansu Province, China"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4><strong>The 19 July 2019 Yahuokou landslide in Gansu Province, China<\/strong><\/h4>\n<p>On 19 July 2019, a large (3.92 million cubic metre) landslide started to develop at\u00a0Dongshan Town, Zhouqu County, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?s=gansu&amp;submit.x=0&amp;submit.y=0&amp;mswhere=blog\">Gansu Province<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?s=china&amp;submit.x=0&amp;submit.y=0&amp;mswhere=blog\">China<\/a>.\u00a0 This mass movement, known as the Yahuokou landslide, is described in a good paper (<a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/article\/10.1007\/s10346-022-02000-8\">He <em>et al.<\/em> 2019)<\/a> that has recently been published in the journal <a href=\"https:\/\/link.springer.com\/journal\/10346\"><em>Landslides<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>The failure is large &#8211; 1,920 m long over a vertical range of 550 m.\u00a0 The location is 33.742, 104.516 (the position given in the paper itself is unfortunately not quite correct). The first (uppermost) road section has moved about 85 m.
