{"id":39798,"date":"2021-12-20T08:46:30","date_gmt":"2021-12-20T08:46:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?p=39798"},"modified":"2021-12-20T08:46:54","modified_gmt":"2021-12-20T08:46:54","slug":"san-isidro-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2021\/12\/20\/san-isidro-1\/","title":{"rendered":"The 12 December 2021 landslide at San Isidro in Peru"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>The 12 December 2021 landslide at San Isidro in Peru<\/h4>\n<p>On 12 December 2021 a<a href=\"https:\/\/larepublica.pe\/sociedad\/2021\/12\/13\/amazonas-reubican-a-damnificados-por-deslizamiento-de-tierra-en-provincia-bagua-lrnd\/\"> large landslide affected the village of San Isidro in La Peca, Amazonas, Peru<\/a>.\u00a0 The landslide, which was apparently triggered by heavy rainfall, destroyed more than 80 homes as well as building for the local health, initial and primary educational institutions and the town&#8217;s Catholic Church.\u00a0 About 250 people have been forced to relocate.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/actualidad.rt.com\/video\/413686-afectados-deslizamiento-masivo-califican-zona\">RT has a video on Youtube<\/a> that provides a decent overview of the impact of the landslide:-<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"MASSIVE landslide DAMAGES San Isidro, Peru\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/VY7CrUHTCZM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer;
