{"id":39237,"date":"2021-10-12T06:36:50","date_gmt":"2021-10-12T06:36:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?p=39237"},"modified":"2021-10-12T06:38:29","modified_gmt":"2021-10-12T06:38:29","slug":"a-large-rock-slope-collapse-from-punta-dei-ross-croda-marcora-in-the-italian-dolomites","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2021\/10\/12\/a-large-rock-slope-collapse-from-punta-dei-ross-croda-marcora-in-the-italian-dolomites\/","title":{"rendered":"A large rock slope collapse from Punta dei Ross, Croda Marcora in the Italian Dolomites"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>A large rock slope collapse from Punta dei Ross, Croda Marcora in the Italian Dolomites<\/h4>\n<p>On 9 October 2021 a large <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?s=rock+slope&amp;submit.x=0&amp;submit.y=0&amp;mswhere=blog\">rock slope<\/a> collapse occurred on the Punta dei Ross, Croda Marcora in the Dolomites of northern <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?s=italy&amp;submit.x=0&amp;submit.y=0&amp;mswhere=blog\">Italy<\/a>.\u00a0 The failure was captured on a series of videos that have been posted online.<\/p>\n<p>Probably the best video of a part of the failure process has been\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=Fk1QsJGVOiI\">captured by Emanele Compagno and posted to Youtube<\/a>.\u00a0 The really interesting part of the video starts at the 38 second mark:<\/p>\n<iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Frana del Marcora Sorapiss San Vito di Cadore, Cortina d&#039;Ampezzo.
