{"id":34549,"date":"2020-07-06T07:20:27","date_gmt":"2020-07-06T07:20:27","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?p=34549"},"modified":"2020-07-06T07:20:27","modified_gmt":"2020-07-06T07:20:27","slug":"ashikita","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2020\/07\/06\/ashikita\/","title":{"rendered":"Ashikita: a large landslide in the Kumamoto region of Japan"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Ashikita: a large landslide in the Kumamoto region of Japan<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?s=japan&amp;submit.x=0&amp;submit.y=0&amp;mswhere=blog\">Japan<\/a> has once again suffered from exceptional rainfall in recent days, with the Kumamoto region of the island of Kyushu bearing the brunt.\u00a0 Landslides and flooding have occurred across a wide area.\u00a0 Further rainfall was forecast for Sunday evening.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2020_Kyushu_floods\">There is a good Wikipedia providing some details about this rainfall event<\/a>.
