{"id":32499,"date":"2019-11-11T07:23:19","date_gmt":"2019-11-11T07:23:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?p=32499"},"modified":"2019-11-11T07:23:19","modified_gmt":"2019-11-11T07:23:19","slug":"cotabato-earthquakes-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2019\/11\/11\/cotabato-earthquakes-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Planet Labs images of landslides triggered by the 2019 Cotabato earthquakes in the Philippines"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Planet Labs images of landslides triggered by the 2019 Cotabato earthquakes in the Philippines<\/h4>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planet.com\/\">Planet Labs<\/a> satellite images have now become available showing at least some of the landslides triggered by the <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/2019_Cotabato_earthquakes\">2019 Cotabato earthquakes sequence in the Philippines<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2019\/11\/04\/cotaboto-landslides\/\">which I highlighted last week<\/a>.\u00a0 Cloud is still affecting some of the area, so the picture is not yet fully clear, but there is sufficient detail to see at least two large clusters of landslides.\u00a0 Below is an overview image, based on an image collected on 8 November 2019, of one of the clusters (located at 6.960, 125.200).\u00a0 I&#8217;ll call this group of landslides the Barangay Buhay cluster; the other cluster I have found is at Barangay Bato (located at 6.84, 125.16).\u00a0 I will endeavour to feature the other later this week.<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_32500\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-32500\" class=\"size-full wp-image-32500\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/files\/2019\/11\/19_11-Cotabato-1-e1573455396397.jpg\" alt=\"Cotabato earthquakes landslides\" width=\"640\" height=\"548\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-32500\" class=\"wp-caption-text\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.planet.com\/\">Planet Labs<\/a> image of the Barangay Buhay cluster of landslides triggered by the Cotabato earthquakes. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planet.com\/\">Planet Labs<\/a> PlanetScope image, captured on 8 November 2019.
