{"id":31260,"date":"2019-06-20T06:01:23","date_gmt":"2019-06-20T06:01:23","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?p=31260"},"modified":"2019-06-20T06:01:23","modified_gmt":"2019-06-20T06:01:23","slug":"arakli-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2019\/06\/20\/arakli-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Arakli: devastating debris flows in Trabzon province in Turkey yesterday"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Arakli: devastating debris flows in Trabzon province in Turkey yesterday<\/h4>\n<p>Intense rainfall yesterday (19th June 2019) in Trabzon province in Turkey triggered a series of devastating <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?s=%22debris+flow%22&amp;submit.x=0&amp;submit.y=0&amp;mswhere=blog\">debris flows<\/a> in the hilly Arakli area close to the Black Sea coast.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mynet.com\/araklida-selin-neden-oldugu-hasar-gun-agarinca-ortaya-cikti-110105496854\">News reports<\/a> suggest that seven people are known to have died in the disaster, and a further seven people are missing.\u00a0 Worst affected appears to be the communities of <span class=\"notranslate\">\u00c7aml\u0131ktepe and Ye\u015filyurt, in the Arakli area, where reports suggest that ten lives have been lost.
