{"id":29485,"date":"2018-12-17T07:05:41","date_gmt":"2018-12-17T07:05:41","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?p=29485"},"modified":"2018-12-17T07:05:41","modified_gmt":"2018-12-17T07:05:41","slug":"luopu-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2018\/12\/17\/luopu-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Luopu Village: an interesting landslide triggered by a M=5.7 earthquake in Sichuan yesterday"},"content":{"rendered":"<h4>Luopu Village: an interesting landslide triggered by a M=5.7 earthquake in Sichuan yesterday<\/h4>\n<p>At 12:46 pm local time yesterday (Sunday 16th December 2018) a shallow (12 km) M=5.7 earthquake struck <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?s=sichuan&amp;submit.x=0&amp;submit.y=0&amp;mswhere=blog\">Sichuan Province<\/a> in China.\u00a0 This earthquake, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.xinhuanet.com\/english\/2018-12\/16\/c_137678406.htm\">which Xinhua reports had an epicentre at 28.24, 104.95<\/a>, is not reported to have caused any loss of life, although at least 16 people were injured.\u00a0 At present the impact of the earthquake is unclear &#8211; it is likely to have caused damage over a comparatively small area, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ecns.cn\/hd\/2018-12-17\/detail-ifzasznx1606623.shtml#\">but ECNS has a very interesting image of a landslide apparently triggered by the earthquake<\/a>:-<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_29488\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29488\" class=\"wp-image-29488 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/files\/2018\/12\/18_12-Luopo-1-e1545028333400.jpg\" alt=\"Luopu\" width=\"640\" height=\"403\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-29488\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Luopu village &#8211;
