To date only one image has emerged (as far as I can tell), showing a significant collapse on Myzithres Beach. <a href=\"http:\/\/ermisnews.gr\/index.php?id=64911\">Ermisnews has this before and after pair of images<\/a> of the event at Myzithres Beach:-<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_29089\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-29089\" class=\"size-full wp-image-29089\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/files\/2018\/10\/18_10-Zakynthos-4-e1540796805251.jpg\" alt=\"Zakynthos earthquake\" width=\"640\" height=\"320\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-29089\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">A major rockfall on Myzithres beach. I<a href=\"https:\/\/www.neakriti.gr\/article\/ellada-nea\/1525328\/allaxe-to-hroma-tis-thalassas-sto-nauagio-meta-to-seismo-sti-zakuntho\/\">mage via Neakriti<\/a>.<\/p><\/div>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<div class=\"mceTemp\"><\/div>\n<p>Meanwhile, there are also reports of rockfalls on inland slopes.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.neakriti.gr\/article\/ellada-nea\/1525314\/zakunthos-ekkenonodai-spitia-logovrahou\/\">Neakriti reports<\/a> that in <span class=\"notranslate\">Panagoula<\/span> on Zakynthos several houses have been evacuated due to the risk of rockfalls.\u00a0 The aftershock sequence appears to be quite active, so further rockfalls cannot be ruled out, and there will also be a substantial level of hazard in the next major rainfall event.\u00a0 Meanwhile <a href=\"http:\/\/www.keeptalkinggreece.com\/2018\/10\/26\/earthquake-6-8-powerful-zakynthos\/\">there is also some evidence of liquefaction or foundation problems in the port at Zakynthos<\/a>, as would probably be expected in an event such as this.<\/p>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>On 25th October 2018 an M=6.8 earthquake occurred at 14 km depth off the coast of Greece.
