high resolution satellite images from Planet Labs"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Villa Santa Lucia landslide &#8211; high resolution satellite images<\/h5>\n<p>At last the clouds have cleared sufficiently above the area affected by the <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2017\/12\/18\/villa-santa-lucia-1\/\">Villa Santa Lucia landslide in Chile<\/a> , which <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2017\/12\/23\/villa-santa-lucia-rock-avalanche\/\">killed 18 people on 16th December 2017<\/a>, to become visible to optical satellites.\u00a0 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.planet.com\/\">Planet Labs<\/a> captured a very high quality image of the area, including the full length of the landslide, on 11th January.\u00a0 Further images have been collected since.\u00a0 This is a 3 m resolution image of the whole of the landslide:-<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_26502\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-26502\" class=\"size-full wp-image-26502\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/files\/2018\/01\/18_01-Villa-Santa-Lucia-Planet-1-e1515943511400.jpg\" alt=\"Villa Santa Lucia landslide\" width=\"640\" height=\"650\" \/><p id=\"caption-attachment-26502\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Planet Labs image of the Villa Santa Lucia landslide. 3 m resolution imagery collected on 11th January 2018<\/p><\/div>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>The landslide consists of three main sections &#8211;
