{"id":19055,"date":"2016-06-26T08:17:17","date_gmt":"2016-06-26T08:17:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?p=19055"},"modified":"2016-06-26T08:17:17","modified_gmt":"2016-06-26T08:17:17","slug":"robyn-collier","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2016\/06\/26\/robyn-collier\/","title":{"rendered":"Landslides in Art Part 26: Robyn Collier"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Landslides in Art: Robyn Collier<\/h5>\n<p>This, the 26th edition of <a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2016\/04\/01\/landslides-in-art-part-25-richard-humphrey\/\">Landslides in Art<\/a>, features a painting by the Australian artist <a href=\"http:\/\/robyncollier.com.au\/about-robyn-collier\/\">Robyn Collier<\/a>.\u00a0 Robyn&#8217;s bio on her excellent webpage describes her as follows:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Robyn is well-known as a prominent Australian wilderness landscape and seascape painter of contemporary realism who started painting in the early 70\u2019s \u2013 when traditional art was really taking off and Sydney Galleries were frequent and successful. Most of what she \u00a0has learned has been learned from the observation of nature and constant hard work \u2013\u00a0being a\u00a0self realised artist.\u00a0Having spent many years painting en plein-air she then graduated to studio work and subjects requiring \u00a0more time and reference while still retaining the Alla-Prima technique.
