Java: disastrous landslides in Indonesia over the weekend"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Central Java: disastrous landslides in Indonesia over the weekend<\/h5>\n<p>Heavy rainfall in Central Java, Indonesia triggered landslides and floods over the weekend, with disastrous consequences.\u00a0 The headline seems to be 46 confirmed fatalities with a further 27 people reported to be missing, although this is not entirely clear at the moment.\u00a0 I have been trying to glean information from various news reports:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/jakartaglobe.beritasatu.com\/news\/46-killed-central-java-landslide-flash-flood\/\">Jakarta Globe<\/a> reports 29 people were killed in Purworejo, all by landslides, with a further 11 still missing.<\/li>\n<li>The <a href=\"http:\/\/jakartaglobe.beritasatu.com\/news\/46-killed-central-java-landslide-flash-flood\/\">Jakarta Globe<\/a> also reports 17 people killed in Banjarnegar, with a further 6 missing.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In terms of specific landslide incidents:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>On Saturday a landslide at Sampang Village (also <a href=\"http:\/\/jakartaglobe.beritasatu.com\/news\/six-missing-landslide-c-java-village\/\">reported<\/a> as\u00a0Dukuh Pohkumban) in Sempor district, Kebumen <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejakartapost.com\/news\/2016\/06\/19\/13-killed-as-landslides-bury-central-java-villages.html\">reportedly buried three houses<\/a>, killing six people<\/li>\n<li>In Karangrejo, Caok nine people were killed according to <a href=\"https:\/\/anshora.com\/homeland-2\/asia-homeland-2\/47-killed-in-landslide-in-purworejo\/\">Anshora<\/a><\/li>\n<li>Also on Saturday <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dailysabah.com\/asia\/2016\/06\/19\/floods-landslides-kill-35-in-indonesia-25-missing\">nine people were killed<\/a> at Gumelem by a landslide on a road.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thejakartapost.com\/news\/2016\/06\/19\/13-killed-as-landslides-bury-central-java-villages.html\">Reports suggest<\/a> that the victims were clearing the debris from one landslide when they were struck by another.<\/li>\n<li>A landslide reported as occurring at Donorati <a href=\"https:\/\/anshora.com\/homeland-2\/asia-homeland-2\/47-killed-in-landslide-in-purworejo\/\">reportedly<\/a> killed 11 people.<\/li>\n<li>A landslide at Sidomulyo Village in Purworejo <a href=\"https:\/\/anshora.com\/homeland-2\/asia-homeland-2\/47-killed-in-landslide-in-purworejo\/\">reportedly<\/a> killed five people<\/li>\n<li>In Mranti two people were <a href=\"https:\/\/anshora.com\/homeland-2\/asia-homeland-2\/47-killed-in-landslide-in-purworejo\/\">reportedly<\/a> killed<\/li>\n<li>In Jelok village in Kaligesing a landslide <a href=\"https:\/\/anshora.com\/homeland-2\/asia-homeland-2\/47-killed-in-landslide-in-purworejo\/\">killed<\/a> three people<\/li>\n<li>And in a landslide in Bagelan (also reported as Parry, Berjan) one person <a href=\"https:\/\/anshora.com\/homeland-2\/asia-homeland-2\/47-killed-in-landslide-in-purworejo\/\">reportedly<\/a> died.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The total from the above is 46 people, which tallies with the headline above, although I suspect that this might be more luck than judgement.\u00a0 If anyone can provide better information then I would appreciate it.<\/p>\n<p>There are a few
