{"id":18323,"date":"2016-04-15T07:02:31","date_gmt":"2016-04-15T07:02:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?p=18323"},"modified":"2016-04-15T07:02:31","modified_gmt":"2016-04-15T07:02:31","slug":"colonnata-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2016\/04\/15\/colonnata-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Colonnata: a large collapse in a Carrara marble quarry in Italy"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Colonnata: a large collapse in a Carrara marble quarry in Italy<\/h5>\n<p>Yesterday a substantial collapse and rockfall occurred in a <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Carrara_marble\">Carrara marble<\/a> at Colonnata, Tuscany in Italy, killing two workers and injuring another.\u00a0 The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.ansa.it\/english\/news\/2016\/04\/14\/two-quarry-workers-missing-after-rock-collapse_8d1620f3-887a-45ba-9d69-58ed490249f8.html\">ANSA news agency has a brief report<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Firefighters were searching for two quarry workers missing on Thursday after a wall of rock at a quarry in the Apuan Alps collapsed. A third quarryman who was reportedly left hanging by a rope in the quarry in Tuscany&#8217;s Colonnata basin was rescued and taken to hospital.
