{"id":18069,"date":"2016-03-20T09:53:16","date_gmt":"2016-03-20T09:53:16","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?p=18069"},"modified":"2016-03-20T09:53:16","modified_gmt":"2016-03-20T09:53:16","slug":"chelan-county-landslide-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2016\/03\/20\/chelan-county-landslide-1\/","title":{"rendered":"Chelan County: A landslide near Wenatchee triggers evacuations"},"content":{"rendered":"<h5>Chelan County: A landslide near Wenatchee triggers evacuations<\/h5>\n<p>Near to <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Wenatchee,_Washington\">Wenatchee<\/a> in <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Chelan_County,_Washington\">Chelan County<\/a>, Washington State, in western USA, a large landslide has developed that is directly threatening 26 houses, leading to the evacuation of a number of families.\u00a0 <a href=\"http:\/\/komonews.com\/news\/local\/officials-chelan-county-neighborhood-at-risk-of-massive-landslide\">KOMO News has the best account of this landslide<\/a>:<\/p>\n<blockquote><p>Neighbors in the area have been asked to evacuate as the ground continues to shift and officials try to figure what has caused the potentially deadly disaster.\u00a0 Just above Wenatchee, the Whispering Ridge neighborhood provides a mountain top perspective. &#8230; Residents in 26 houses have been advised to leave.
