However, there may be a longer non-visible component.\u00a0The top of Fingerpost Ridge is at about 2600 m, whilst the foot of the steep slope is at about 2300 m according to Google Earth.\u00a0 The toe of the visible part of the landslide is at 1900 m.<\/p>\n<p>Interestingly, at the toe of the landslide there appears to have been a lake &#8211; named Berna Lake:<\/p>\n<div id=\"attachment_17187\" style=\"width: 650px\" class=\"wp-caption aligncenter\"><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/files\/2015\/12\/15_12-Mount-James-Turner-3-e1450385991347.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-17187\" class=\"size-full wp-image-17187\" src=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/files\/2015\/12\/15_12-Mount-James-Turner-3-e1450385991347.jpg\" alt=\"Mount James Turner\" width=\"640\" height=\"396\" \/><\/a><p id=\"caption-attachment-17187\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Mount James Turner via Google Earth<\/p><\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>Is this the snowy apparently-deformed mass that appears to lie at the toe of the landslide in the first image?
