{"id":14938,"date":"2015-04-17T06:55:09","date_gmt":"2015-04-17T06:55:09","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/?p=14938"},"modified":"2015-04-20T12:44:18","modified_gmt":"2015-04-20T12:44:18","slug":"russian-earthflow-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2015\/04\/17\/russian-earthflow-1\/","title":{"rendered":"New landslide video: a fascinating and huge Russian earthflow"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2015\/04\/20\/bolshaya-talda-1\/\"><em>There is an update to this post here<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n<h5>Russian Earthflow<\/h5>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=1gSDgZaHvtg\">An absolutely stunning new video has appeared on Youtube overnight<\/a> showing footage shot from a road of the movement of a very large and very spectacular earthflow in Russia.\u00a0 It has to be said that the videographer was as cool as the weather in his or her slow retreat from the path of the landslide:-<\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/1gSDgZaHvtg\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allowfullscreen=\"allowfullscreen\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>.<\/p>\n<p>There is no information about the landslide, except that it occurred on 1st April 2015 at Zarechnyi.\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.liveleak.com\/view?i=53c_1429185418\"> Liveleak also has the video of the Russian earthflow, <\/a>with a label that says <a href=\"http:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Penza_Oblast\">Penzenskaya Oblast<\/a>.\u00a0 If this is correct then it is in an area on the western side of Russia.\u00a0 Given that this would be the thawing season, the conditions would be right for this type of landslide.\u00a0 But there is also a volcano called Zarechnyi on Kamchatka, although I assume that this is not the location of this landslide.<\/p>\n<p>Does anyone have any more information?<\/p>\n<h5><a href=\"https:\/\/blogs.agu.org\/landslideblog\/2015\/04\/20\/bolshaya-talda-1\/\">Click here for an update to this post<\/a><\/h5>\n<!-- AddThis Advanced Settings generic via filter on the_content --><!-- AddThis Share Buttons generic via filter on the_content -->","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Youtube has an amazing new video of a huge Russian earthflow in motion, taken on 1st April 2015.
