Plane Views: Minneapolis to Anchorage

Alaska, Plane Views 2 Minutes

This is Part III of my series of “Plane View” pictures taken during my trip from Cape Town, South Africa to Nome, Alaska. Part I is here, and Part II is here.

By this third flight, my husband and I were starting to become fairly tired. However, we managed to take some excellent pictures out the window anyway, particularly as we approached Anchorage. Enjoy! Feel free to comment on any interesting geology you see!

    1. Thanks, Kea! I have a Cannon Powershot SX10IS with a pretty good zoom lens. Nothing too fancy, but it does the trick!

  2. #4 & #5 are kettles for sure–classic examples. That would be right around the US-Canada border near the SE corner of Saskatchewan. #6 is Alameda dam & reservoir, just E of Alameda, Saskatchewan. An old glacial meltwater channel (occupied by an underfit stream, Moose Mountain Creek) has been dammed up to provide irrigation and flood control.
