Think “Slack” for research groups and the AGU Fall Meeting
Imagine if you will 37 scientists and science communicators scattered throughout the LUMCON facility, all working on individual science storytelling projects. How could our host site keep up communication with everyone scattered across the labs and in the field? … For me, the use of Slack was a home run for the OCEANDOTCOMM workshop. It can be the same for the AGU Fall Meeting.

Stitching Hope for the Coast – communicating coastal optimism for Louisiana
We’re asking anyone to knit, crochet, quilt… create anything with yarn or fabric that represents hope for the Louisiana coast. We’re creating a group on Ravelry, have a website (http://tinyurl.com/stitchingcoast) and hashtag (#stitchingcoast) ready to go, and now, we just need needleworkers! It doesn’t matter the age or level of ability or where you live.

OCEANDOTCOMM is a collaborative, storytelling, social media event hosted by the Louisiana Universities Marine Consortium (LUMCON). This multi-day, residential event is geared toward science communicators from any background that want to innovate new models in science communication. Applications are due February 1st.
