AGU piloted two new mentoring programs at the 2015 Fall Meeting – one for undergraduate students, one for those interested in science communication. I had the opportunity to participate as a mentor in both programs, and I encourage others t consider doing the same at AGU 2015 (and all year-round!).

This post originally was supposed to be focused on a collection of profiles of women in ocean sciences available online. But in working to celebrate our successes, and keeping in mind this year’s theme for International Women’s Day 2023 of #EmbraceEquity, I couldn’t just celebrate the accomplishments – I had to include the challenges these amazing women have faced along the way and still face today.
