AGU piloted two new mentoring programs at the 2015 Fall Meeting – one for undergraduate students, one for those interested in science communication. I had the opportunity to participate as a mentor in both programs, and I encourage others t consider doing the same at AGU 2015 (and all year-round!).

The fifth recipient of the GeoCUR Undergraduate Research Mentor Award is Mark Wilson, Lewis M. and Marian Senter Nixon Professor of Natural Sciences and Geology at The College of Wooster

But in working to celebrate our successes, and keeping in mind this year’s theme for International Women’s Day 2023 of #EmbraceEquity, I couldn’t just celebrate the accomplishments – I had to include the challenges these amazing women have faced along the way and still face today.
