I am currently reading an excellent (and FREE) book about climate models that I think many teachers of physics/Earth science etc. will want to get. It will also come in handy for synoptic meteorologists who use numerical weather models (which while similar, are also quite different). In my last post, I had a link to a slide show that the AMS Station Science Committee and Climate Central put together, so here is another free resource for understanding the issue of climate change without the political propaganda that leaves most people totally confused. Do not let a fear of high level math keep you from reading this book, they left that out, so anyone from high school and up will have no issues understanding it, no matter what your math background. 

The bad news is that once you read this book, you will understand why we know enough from these models, to be very worried about what we are doing to our planet’s thermostat. It’s not about how many solar panels a climate researcher has on his houses, or whether he drives a Prius! People who make a big deal out that kind of thing have the critical thinking skills of a 4th grader.

It’s about changing the entire way we produce energy.
